Hello faithful reader. My finger is still on the mend and I am now down to just a Band-Aid and some Neosporin. But now I am dealing with something a bit more painful. If you have an eagle eye on the date you will notice that it is not being posted on a Wednesday! I know, right? How come? Well, as I was prepping my drinks for the day, (read as putting a gallon jug of water in the basement fridge), I strained a muscle in my lower back. Yeah. Ouch.
I have been dealing with sciatica issues for the better part of 10 years now. I have had some bouts where the pain has been in my hip, or in my lower back (L4, L5) area. Well, this sucks. It’s in my lower back, right above my buttock on the right side of my spine. When it spasms or is aggravated I lose all function in my right leg for a split second. It sucks! It’s really putting a damper on my step streak. I did power through and got my 10k steps in but I was almost in tears trying to climb the steps up to the first floor.
Kudos to my loving and caring wife. She is such a trooper, listening to me whimper and moan and groan. Also, I have to thank GOD that she has a container of Tiger Balm! OMG! It is such a game changer! The balm, along with my lower back brace/band, and ibuprofen have allowed me to get in my two walking sessions today. Albeit at a much slower pace but I did it. Hopefully this injury heals quickly and doesn’t slow down my weight loss and health journey!
TTFN!
