Time Is Not On My Side

Well this last week has been pretty interesting. I spent the weekend not doing too much in the way of writing, or home improvements. I did, however, try to get my wedding ring resized. No dice. IT has a pattern on it and the jeweler said, nope, sorry. I also spent some time at the my mother’s and mother-in-law’s houses on Sunday! Happy Mother’s day to all of the mothers out there. I bought my mom new porch lights and hung them for her, then worked on my brother’s lawn mower(s).

Then we relocated to my mother-in-law’s house and did some gardening in the rain. I also hung a new porch light for her as well!

All that being said, I didn’t have much time for writing this weekend. I am somewhat free this weekend but I am booked solid for the next two weekends after that!

I have a scout trip planned and then a family camping trip. The scout trip will be a 16 mile hike on the Chief Pontiac Trail with full packs. Yeah. I’m a stereotypical middle aged guy who sits all day as a computer/IT programmer type. I fear that looming heart attack on the next ridge. I will be taking my time and using as much down time as possible. I can do two-three miles but will need a 10-20 minute break afterwards.

THEN once I get home I will need to get the camper home and dewinterized! That is a 20+ step process as it is! Hopefully it won’t need any repairs.

And of course there is the looming deadline to get my novel done by the end of June. I have some much to write but my eyesight is giving me issues and I can’t spend much time staring at the screen. I am focusing on the keyboard as I type this instead of the screen like I normally do.

All of that boils down to stress. Stress that I don’t need nor want. Stress that is causing me to have digestion issues. Life also has a way of tossing you curve balls. My wife’s car needs work, the house is leaking water near the chimney and I have a restoration company coming out to look at it. Just one thing after another.

Sorry for the long gripe but I just needed to get some of this off of my chest.

TTFN!
